          Awarded - C.A. Bruce


  • Bring in India - AC 1834 by English man 


  • Assam Tea company - established in 1840


  • Weather conditions require for Tea cultivation -


  • Rain  - 150 - 250 cm. / Year (50-100 inch)


  • Soil     - Acidic soil (pH 4.5 - 5.5),


  • Temprature  - 24 °C - 30 °C will be best


  • Stimulated element - Theine (Alcaloid), Riboflavin


  • National production - Assam 50% , West Bengal, Kerala, Tamilnadu


  • International Production - India, Srilanka, East Afrika, China, Bangladesh

                                 Big shrub(1 - 3 meter Tall)

                            Small Tree(10 - 15 meter Tall)

                             Leaf size - 8 - 20 cm long 

                             & 3.5 - 7.5 cm. wide


  • 3. Camellia Assamica sub species Lasiocalyx(Camellia Cambodiensis) - Combodia Tea,

            Small Fastigiate Tree(6 - 10 meter Tall)

            Leaf size - 8 - 20 cm long 

             & 3.5 - 7 cm. wide
